The Guidance for Information Management according to BS EN ISO 19650 has been updated and published by the UK BIM Framework.
The new suite of guidance documents support the BS EN ISO 19650 series and provides specific guidance on BS EN ISO 19650-2, the delivery phase of assets, and ISO 19650-3, the operational phase.
This suite of documents (comprising Guidance Parts 1 – 3 and Parts A – F) has been developed in response to feedback, to accommodate the expanding coverage of guidance and to capture the recently published ISO 19650-3.
New content explores ISO 19650-3 (Guidance 3), the information management function (Guidance A) and responsibility matrices (Guidance F).
Guidance D now provides examples to demonstrate the content and relationship between different information requirements. These examples are supported with a database and a short, informative video.
The second edition of the Information Protocol has also been published in response to feedback.
Sarah Davidson, co-editor of the Guidance, said: "This new suite of guidance has been developed to offer easy to access, structured content. It is ever expanding, and while there is still more to do, it now covers many of the themes set out in the ISO 19650 series. It is a significant team effort and I am hugely thankful to all the people who continue to offer their time and expertise in authoring and providing shape through feedback."
David Churcher, co-Editor of the Guidance and author of Guidance Part 3, said: "I am very pleased that, as part of this update, we have been able to produce some initial guidance for ISO 19650-3 which was only published in the UK on 19 August."
