What is your New Year resolution?
To look at my emails less in the evenings – a bad habit! – and prioritise more quality family time.
What piece of kit might you buy in the sales (non-work)?
A decent surfboard. I want to teach my children to surf.
What is your most important lesson learnt from 2019?
That communication and training is at the heart of any successful company. The more informed and educated the workforce is, the more efficient and productive (and happy) they are.
What innovative technology are you most excited about in 2020?
Extending our use and development of AR and VR within BIM technologies to assist site teams in making informed and educated decisions quickly. We are well ahead of the curve with this and we’re on track to roll out our advancements to our sites early this year.
What individual or company is going to be one to watch this year?
Winvic of course, thanks to our Centre for Innovative Construction.
Which construction technology do you think might make the leap into mainstream adoption this year?
Significant advancements to low carbon technologies will begin to become more mainstream in 2020 and will engulf the construction industry over the next three to five years.
What do you see as potentially the biggest barrier to digital construction progress in 2020?
Successfully educating people about the technology available and also people’s understanding of the true end-to-end benefits.
What industry event are you looking forward to attending?
The March Emerging Realities conference in Coventry.
