Padraig Delaney, formerly head of digital innovation for Sir Robert McAlpine in London, has joined GagaMuller Group to spearhead the client-side, data-driven project management and project controls specialist’s expansion in the UK.

After nearly eight years at Sir Robert McAlpine, Delaney has joined Dublin-based GagaMuller Group as operations manager for the UK.

GagaMuller Group was founded five years ago by Paddy Ryan, formerly of Mace, and Thomas Gillen, formerly of Multiplex. The company employs more than 90 people.

Delaney told BIMplus: “I have been aware of GagaMuller Group for quite some time, and our goals and targets aligned – it’s the perfect fit really. I’ve not come across a company that’s as driven towards the data element of innovation and using it for project management.

"GagaMuller Group ensures that its clients are equipped to leverage the power of digital construction through digitalised workflows, automated processes and data analytics to deliver project management solutions throughout the entire lifecycle. We want to see intelligent data-driven reporting, which enables decision making that both minimises risk and improves construction productivity.”

Target sectors

GagaMuller Group is targeting construction clients in the commercial, data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial and residential sectors in the UK. The company is already involved in two life science projects in London and has just signed the contract for a third.

Delaney added: “GagaMuller already has a presence in the UK, but we are taking it a step further by acquiring a new office in central London. This move is a significant step towards rooting ourselves firmly into the London sphere, enabling us to better serve our clients and partners in the region.”

He envisions a UK team of more than 20 within a year: “Initially my main focus is setting up the UK office. I think our growth will be organic and significant. We’re going to build a diverse team of expert project managers with a key focus on schedule and cost management. A diverse team is key to fostering collaboration and delivering projects successfully.”
