Nima has recruited three new vice-chairs and an additional non-executive director.
Melanie Dawson, director of Origin7 Digital and Origin7 Digital Academy, will help nima manage its network of specialist and regional communities, while also supporting the nima ambassadors and affiliates. She was involved with nima in its previous guise as the UK BIM Alliance, chairing the Northern Ireland group.
Sam Hardy is digital consulting manager for Europe and India at Aecom in London. He will help to manage nima’s operations team, looking after its back-office systems and processes.
The third new vice-chair is Rachel Heaton, engagement manager for construction at GS1 UK. She will enhance nima’s relationships with existing patrons, while also looking to bring in new patrons from across the built and managed environment.
Benedict Wallbank, BIM strategy and partnerships manager at Trimble EMEA, joins nima as a non-executive director with a particular focus on the activities of nima services, including the GIIG, a not-for-profit business under the nima umbrella. He was a member of the working group that supported the GIIG’s production of an interoperability code of practice for technology providers.
Nima chair Anne Kemp OBE said: “I am delighted to welcome Melanie, Sam, Rachel and Benedict into their new roles at nima. They join an experienced group of existing vice-chairs and non-executive directors at an exciting time for the organisation, and our expanded team has already had a fruitful day’s discussion of nima’s future direction and strategy.
“Our immediate priority will be to support the continued development and launch of the refreshed approach to the information management mandate. We are aiming to release the revised approach at the nima Autumn Virtual Conference.”
