nima’s autumn conference will focus on the next step as the information management mandate evolves into the information management initiative.
The information management initiative supersedes the mandate: the latter was announced in the Transforming Infrastructure Performance: Roadmap 2030, published three years ago.
The initiative will be launched at the nima autumn conference on 7 November. The event will include sessions in which “two industry big hitters dive into exactly what impact the information management initiative will have on the industry”, nima says.
nima is leading the Construction Leadership Council task group that is developing the initiative.
Chair Dr Anne Kemp OBE said: “This is your opportunity to strengthen your information management strategy as we share critical learning and key insights from the new information management initiative. Join us for a day of collaboration and discover how to maximise information management to your advantage.”
Last October Kemp told BIMplus: “We had a nudge from the Department for Business and Trade, saying the mandate would be much better if it was strengthened by industry.
“What we can do is bring out the strength of the ISO 19650 series – so that doesn’t change. But we’re going to drive at whole life. And ensure that it’s data-driven.
“[The revision] will strengthen the mandate [to] make it more appealing, much clearer why and what the opportunities are, why it’s worth doing it, and ensure it’s much more about collaboration.”
