Digital Twin Hub wants greater client engagement

The Digital Twin Hub will prioritise engagement with clients in order to progress digital twins.

In its first annual benchmark report, the Hub declared its plans for 2021 and beyond and said: “Our goal for next year is to prioritise the engagement of asset owners to increase the coverage of our addressable market and to create a solid base of organisations willing to take an active part in progressing the state of the art of digital twins.”

Launched in March last year with six founding members, the Hub now has more than 1,400 members. The report noted that the Hub’s asset owners members represent only 5% of all UK infrastructure asset owners. The Hub wants to strengthen its relationship with the Cabinet Office on the National Underground Asset Register programme in order to attract more asset owners.

Matt Edwards, chief data officer, head of enterprise data at Anglian Water, said: "It is in every asset owner’s interest that everyone in national infrastructure engages with the Hub. As infrastructure owners and operators, we must show leadership and equally promote the common learning through our supply chains and partners. We need the Hub to be the independent ‘go-to’ space where learning and sharing takes place."

Mark Enzer, head of the National Digital Twin Programme, said: "Innovation and investment in infrastructure will be a crucial component of our ecomomic recovery and connected digital twins can play an important role in that development. I’m really looking forward to seeing this refected in the Digital Twin Hub’s progress over the next year as we build on the pioneering work that has already been done."
