Roofing specialist BMI has launched a roof modelling service with measurements that are at least 95% accurate.
The service, known as PlanMaster, delivers accurate roof measurement reports for both pitched and flat-roof projects.
PlanMaster uses a combination of high-resolution aerial photography, 3D modelling and technical review to deliver accurate roof measurements. By using PlanMaster, roofing contractors and specifiers can gain precise roof measurements remotely, assisting site visits and enabling project surveys, estimates and specifications to progress quickly, BMI said.
Alongside roof measurements that are a minimum of 95% accurate across the whole roof area, PlanMaster provides an in-depth report comprising data that is broken down into all critical roof elements, diagrams and illustrations that identify key characteristics of the roof, and aerial photographs.
To gain an accurate picture of every roof, PlanMaster banks aerial imagery captured by specialised aircraft, with 95% of the UK already documented at a minimum resolution of 20cm per pixel. With this, PlanMaster’s technical team can identify key project requirements early in the planning process, even before a site survey is conducted.
Available for both domestic (less than 300 sq m) and commercial (300 sq m up to 15,000 sq m) projects, PlanMaster measurement reports can be ordered online and received within 48 hours.
A clear picture
BMI sales director Chris Nicholls said: “We all know the importance of getting every detail right at the start of a re-roofing project, allowing for accurate projections of material requirements, cost and project timings. PlanMaster doesn’t only support accuracy – it can save roofing merchants, contractors and specifiers valuable time by delivering detailed roof measurements and roof plans remotely.
“Typically, getting the measurements you need could require time-consuming site visits and roof access, which comes with its own safety concerns, before a project is underway. Even then, it’s not always easy to get a clear picture of the roof and its requirements, sometimes leading to unforeseen challenges down the line. The advanced measurement services of PlanMaster removes those concerns and speeds up the initial process of generating a quote or preparing for a tender. With online access that is available anytime and anywhere, you can save time and reduce costs at the outset of a project.”
