BIM Prospects 2016 conference to outline life post-mandate

The BIM Prospects 2016 conference at BRE Watford on 6-7 April will take place just two days after the Level 2 BIM mandate potentially changes the landscape of the UK construction industry.

BIM+ readers booking to attend the conference will be eligible for a 20% discount.

Delegates will hear first-hand how central government departments are ensuring documentation, guidance and training are available to assist the deployment of BIM as “business as usual” from Terry Stocks, UK director at Faithful & Gould.

Stocks, previously delivery director for the UK BIM Task Force with responsibility for leading a team to deliver BIM Level 2 across all departments, will share his insights about the preparedness of UK government departments.

Delegates will also gain insights from companies which are already delivering BIM Level 2. Peter Trebilcock, director of BIM at Balfour Beatty Construction, will talk about how the company has implemented BIM throughout the company.

Alex Lubbock, BIM development manager at Carillion, will speak about Carillion’s approach to up-skilling its workforce.

The event will also discuss the findings from a BRE skills survey, which provides fresh evidence indicating that a lack of skills in the industry is a blocker to successful BIM.

The survey was designed to facilitate a better understanding of how prepared UK construction is to meet the requirements of BIM Level 2 and beyond.

On the second day of the conference, workshops will give companies practical advice on the successful use of BIM in projects and discuss the lessons learnt from leading organisations.

There will also be an exhibition area where exhibitors and sponsors will be showcasing their products to delegates.

Readers can book their place at  http://www.bimprospects.com/ and use the code BIMSUPPORT to claim their 20% discount.
