A round-up of information management and digital construction stories you might have missed in the past fortnight, including the pothole robot project getting more funding.
Pothole robot and mould platform get more funding
An extension of the ARRES road maintenance robot that detects and repairs potholes and a platform designed to minimise mould have received public funding.
Robotiz3d, a spin-out company from the University of Liverpool, is developing the first proof-of-concept for its AI-driven platform to predict the evolution of road defects using data collected by their device.
BuildEco, in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University, is developing a diagnostic web-based platform that uses AI analytics and algorithms to assess and optimise existing building designs. It evaluates existing buildings to identify areas prone to dampness and mould growth, proposes retrofit plans and optimises designs to reduce mould risks and improve building safety and integrity.
The two innovations are among 120 projects awarded a share of £7m funding from the UK Research and Innovation Technology Missions Fund, delivered by the Innovate UK BridgeAI programme.
