Autodesk has agreed to acquire AI urban planning specialist Spacemaker for $240m.
The Spacemaker platform enables users to quickly generate, optimise and iterate on design alternatives, while considering design criteria and data like terrain, maps, wind, lighting, traffic, zoning, etc. Spacemaker quickly returns design alternatives optimised for the full potential of the site.
The acquisition of Spacemaker (based in Oslo, Norway) provides Autodesk with a platform to drive modern, user-centric automation – powered by AI – and accelerate design capabilities for architects.
The acquisition is expected to complete before 31 January 2021.
