Luxembourg-based augmented reality app provider Gamma Technologies has secured a €1m investment from Swedish tech giant Husqvarna Group.
The Gamma AR app allows users to upload the BIM model of a project, and track and comment on its progress on an Apple or Android device on site. It links to a BIM portal, collating comments, issues and images from the site in real-time.
Gamma was founded in 2019 by architect Caner Dolas and Jayan Jevanesan, a computer scientist. The following year, Gamma became a member of the Autodesk Construction Cloud. The company says its software has been used on more than 2,400 construction projects in more than 150 countries.
Dolas said: “The investment from Husqvarna Group will accelerate the revolution of the construction industry and spread awareness about the benefits of using AR technologies on the jobsite. We are excited to start working with Husqvarna Group on the implementation of innovative technology in the construction industry.”
Mark Johnson, vice president corporate venture capital at Husqvarna, said: “Gamma is innovating in an area of high interest to us as we believe augmented reality is an important technology when delivering new technology-based services to our customers. We look forward to a close collaboration with the Gamma team and to capture learnings to accelerate the evolvement of our (construction) business.”
