The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) has become part of the UK BIM Alliance’s affiliate programme.
The CIAT is the not-for-profit organisation that leads and promotes architectural technology and sets and maintains the standards for education, practice and professionalism.
Francesca Berriman MBE, chief executive of CIAT, said: “Architectural technology professionals are at the forefront of technology in architecture, advocating collaborative working and utilising BIM to achieve this daily in practices across the globe. Furthering our relationship with the UK BIM Alliance is a natural progression and we look forward to further developments and working closely as part of the affiliate programme.”
Andy Boutle, UK BIM Alliance engagement co-lead, added: “We welcome CIAT, who are already very mature in their understanding and approach to building information modelling. CIAT being a part of the affiliate programme adds further diversity from an architectural technology perspective. We look forward to working them.”
The affiliate programme brings together professional institutions, trade associations and other industry organisations to provide a consistent message and coordinated approach to digital transformation, working across silos to a shared objective.
Other organisations that have joined the programme recently include the Nuclear Institute, the Finishes and Interiors Sector, and the Builders Merchants Federation.
