A 2D machine control system has been launched for SMEs. Unicontrol is presenting its technology as both a cost-effective solution for smaller contractors and a first step towards 3D machine control.

Unicontrol was purchased by laser positioning specialist Spectra Precision in August. Unicontrol’s 2D machine control integrates with Spectra’s lasers and laser receivers, providing instant feedback, and is accurate to ±mm. Real-time guidance, remote diagnostics and updates, and a built-in cut/fill display ensures the correct depth and slope is achieved every time, Unicontrol said.

Once a business has got to grips with the 2D technology, it can upgrade to 3D machine control by adding GNSS antennas.

Niels Bjerregaard, chief executive of Unicontrol, said: “Unicontrol’s new 2D machine control solution is not just a tool for today – it’s an investment in your company’s future. We understand the challenges small and medium construction companies face in integrating advanced technologies into their operations.

“Unicontrol2D allows companies of all sizes to embrace the technology of the future without the initial financial strain. And combined with Spectra’s high-quality lasers and laser receivers, end users have an even larger range of projects they can work on efficiently.”

Unicontrol was founded in 2018 in Denmark and now has customers in 27 countries
